Steven Tyler, the legendary voice of Aerosmith, once again proved why he’s not only a rock-and-roll icon but also a humanitarian with a purpose. On February 2, 2025, Tyler hosted the 6th Annual Jam for Janie GRAMMY Awards Viewing Party at the iconic Hollywood Palladium. This electrifying evening brought together music lovers, philanthropists, and Grammy enthusiasts for a night of unforgettable performances—all in support of *Janie’s Fund*, Tyler’s nonprofit dedicated to young girls aging out of foster care.

The night was a feast of rock royalty. Tyler, making a much-anticipated return to the stage after a vocal injury, lit up the Palladium with Aerosmith staples like “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion” alongside original Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton. While longtime collaborator Joe Perry sent his regards via video and donated a guitar for the fundraising auction, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, of Extreme fame, stepped in with electrifying flair. Together, Tyler and Bettencourt delivered an explosive collaboration that had the crowd roaring.
Country sensation Lainey Wilson joined Tyler for a powerful duet of Aerosmith’s ultimate ballad, “Dream On”, offering a fresh yet moving rendition of the classic. The ever-fierce Joan Jett commanded the stage with her fiery hits, including “Cherry Bomb”, while rock rebel Billy Idol, joined by his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens* wowed the audience with high-energy performances of “Rebel Yell” and “Dancing with Myself.”

While the evening delivered jaw-dropping performances, its true heart lay in its mission. Founded in 2015, Tyler’s *Janie’s Fund*—inspired by Aerosmith’s Grammy-winning hit *“Janie’s Got a Gun”*—advocates for young women navigating life after foster care. Over the past decade, the nonprofit has worked to provide critical support, creating resources to help these young women rebuild their lives.
This year’s benefit expanded its focus to honor Southern California’s first responders and wildfire victims. Tyler paid a touching tribute to emergency personnel in the audience, dedicating “Toys in the Attic” to their bravery and resilience. Speaking passionately during the event, Tyler reminded the crowd, “These young women and first responders are the true warriors. Tonight, we stand together for their futures and their courage.” His words struck a chord with attendees, solidifying the night as more than just music—it was a call to action.
Despite its many high points, the evening was not without a few bittersweet notes. The absence of longtime Aerosmith members Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford left diehard fans yearning for a full band reunion. Also missing from the lineup was Jelly Roll, a highly anticipated performer who was unable to attend the event.
However, these minor setbacks didn’t steal the show. Tyler’s undeniable charisma and unrelenting passion carried the event, as did the breathtaking closeout accompanied by Chris Robinson, bringing the house down with triumphant versions of “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion.”
