Gucci Hosts Star-Studded Campaign Celebration with Blondie’s Debbie Harry.

Debbie Harry, the iconic Blondie frontwoman, is turning heads on Lafayette Street with a towering mural of herself for Gucci’s latest campaign. Yet, last night in Soho, it wasn’t just her mural catching attention—Harry herself was spotted making an entrance at Manuela, a newly opened, signless restaurant on Prince and Wooster. The event, hosted by Gucci, offered a sneak peek of the art-filled eatery and raised a glass to the campaign, aptly titled ‘We Will Always Have London,’ paying homage to the city’s lasting influence on the brand.

Harry, the campaign’s star, was joined by co-host Kelsey Lu, as guests filled Manuela’s eclectic space. Attendees, from the realms of art, fashion, and entertainment, admired the striking art installations and savored passed hors d’oeuvres while discussing the blend of nostalgia and modern style that defines the campaign. Among them, photographer Nan Goldin, who shot the campaign, caught up with actress Jemima Kirke. Harry reflected fondly on working with Goldin, noting their shared history from New York’s club scene of the ’70s and expressing excitement about possibly collaborating again, perhaps with a New York-themed twist.

Clad in pieces from Sabato De Sarno’s latest Gucci offerings, many guests carried the revamped Blondie bag—a classic style from the 1970s that has been reimagined as part of the campaign.Along with their stylish attire, guests were given a taste of Manuela’s sustainable, locally-sourced cuisine, which included notable dishes like Red Kuri squash with stracciatella, Halibut with wax beans and Jonah crab butter, and a delectable Churro ice cream sandwich for dessert. Sitting next Miss Guy, her long-time makeup artist and New York counterpart, Harry discussed the core of a wonderful dinner party. For her, it’s all about the people—especially those from New York, who she thinks are particularly adept in fostering the appropriate mood. The modest group nodded silently in thanks as Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” played quietly in the background, so capturing the attitude of the campaign’s celebration of style, culture, and everlasting relationships.
